Detective Bureau:
The Detective
Bureau conducts follow up investigations on almost all criminal
complaint reports filed with the West Hollywood Station. The
Bureau is headed by one Lieutenant who supervises three
Sergeants nine Detectives, one Crime Analyst, one Professional
Staff member and one Civilian Volunteer. West Hollywood's
Detective Bureau is responsible for the investigation of crimes,
identification and apprehension of criminals, recovery of
property, identification and preservation of evidence. Our
Detectives work closely with the District Attorneys office
assisting in the prosecution of criminal complaints.
Certain
crimes reported to the West Hollywood Station are investigated
by other Detective Divisions within the Los Angeles County
Sheriff's Department. These include Homicides, Child Abuse,
Kidnappings, Priority Stalking cases and Major Identity Theft -
Forgery cases. This does not mean that our detectives are not
capable of investigating these crimes, they are simply handled
by Detective Units that specialize in these crimes and may have
more focused training specific to these crimes.
